There’s just something effortlessly cool about a good harem pant. Comfortable, stylish and so many options to pair it with.
I decided to make these chic, street-style pants in a very specific colour because my love for burgundy is real and the obsession to co-ordinate with my daughter has risen to another level.
We have a tradition where I stay up late on a Friday night to craft something for Mila. Once completed, it is displayed on one of her tiny white hangers in front of her cupboard. She loves finding something new and hearing her sweet voice say “aaaah, so pretty!” in the morning just melts my heart. Making her happy makes me happy.
I made these pants out of a 2-way stretch knit from my local fabric store. The legs are made to be slim fit and instead of using elastic, I decided to make a yoga band instead. Mila and I often go fabric sourcing first thing Saturday mornings, it’s our “mommy and me” time. We round off our trip with flowers and red cappuccinos before heading home for our usual salmon brunch.
Hopefully you like these pants as much as she did. Toddlers love to be free and comfortable, which makes these harems the perfect staple in my little humans’ closet. I paired it with a simple long sleeve tee from cotton on, boots from woolworths and her favourite jersey crafted by her Aunty Maureen.
